Eagle Valais occupies a crucial position in forest fire-fighting operations using ‘water bomber’ helicopters, some of which are specially configured as ‘firefighter helicopters’. In our densely populated mountainous region, where forest fires can spread rapidly, speed and efficiency in managing these emergencies is of vital importance to avoid devastating consequences.
With a top speed in excess of 200 km/h, we are in a position to be the first on the scene when fires break out. This specialised configuration enables our aerial teams to react quickly and precisely, carrying out ‘surgical strikes’ and protecting our Alpine regions and their inhabitants from the potential threat of forest fires.
Our fire-fighting equipment :
Commonly known as the Bambi, this equipment is simple to use. The Bambi Bucket is attached to the machine using a lifting hook, similar to a standard lift. It can be quickly fitted and stored in a basket on the side of the machine when guiding or transporting.
Adapted to aerial work machines, it can be filled in around fifteen seconds, with a water capacity that varies according to the power of the helicopter, around 910 litres for an AS350B3. This system allows the maximum water capacity to be adjusted according to the helicopter’s capacity.
System benefits :
Eagle Valais is aware of environmental and safety issues, and continually invests in training its staff and improving its equipment.
Our commitment to protecting our mountainous regions from forest fires guides every one of our missions.
We are proud to play a significant role in preserving these unique ecosystems and ensuring the safety of local populations.
Every fire put out is a collective victory for nature, the community and our team, underlining our dedication to safety and sustainability.
